Default Downhill Descent (HDC)

Quick question, I was descending a long, steep, snow packed and slipppery jeep road today. I had may hdc engaged and working fine but after a 1/4 mile of decending the amber hdc light suddenly came on and the beeping came on as well. Not sure if ii did something wrong...i kept it in low 1 or 2 the whole time, diff lock also engaged. i was going under 5 mph - just taking it slow.

Any thoughts?

Thx

Matt

Do you think you accidentally tapped on the brakes. If I remember correctly when you tap the brakes it beeps and flashes to let you know it's disengaged.

possible, but i think i read a thread somewhere in the archives that indicated that after a minute or so (?) it automatically shuts off....since that trip down a long slippery road, i've engaged hdc without issue.
