Default drive shaft help

I just got a Toddco front drive shaft. When I pulled it out of the box the front yoke came out. I tryed to put it back in and now it does not move freely. Whats going on and how do I fix this? The thing won't even budge. I pulled my old one apart to try and figure it out and the same thing. I tryed tapping it back out with a hammer and it barely moved. I'm scared to take a hard swing since some thing must be wrong.

It might not be lined up right with the splines. Keep turning it trying different splines.

Or something is binding up on the seal. You mite be able to unscrew it then put the shaft together then retighten it.

I would but the thing is stuck in together. I can't get it apart.
