Driveline Vibration
Hi Dusty1,
To the first order no. I would think I would have to check in different conditions. With the car on the roadwheels and transmission in park vs. with the chassis on jack-stands and the transmission in neutral, etc. Also, unless mistaken the e-brake works on the transmission so I would have to engage/disengage the e-brake to avoid a misreading.
It will be a good thing to check again and document the results.

Am open as to how to inspect the motor mount. I recall driving a Porsche 944 with worn motor mount, the symptom then was a very audible clunk engaging first gear. Here I have a whine, but no clunk. Plus my vibration is most noticable at partial throttle at highway speeds.
Bill,
I remember the clunking phenomenom from worn 944s as I used to own a couple of them
Regarding the LR issue.... have you tried re-balancing the driveshafts? I do not see it mentioned in this thread... and it may be worth a check.... assuming everything is bolted up nicely and tight and you are unable to find additional causes for the existing vibration.
Another idea is to take it to a shop and see if they are willing to raise it up on a lift.... run the Disco and see if you can hear/see an issues from the drivelines from underneath the Disco.

As the car needed to get back on the road, I resorted to having my local independent do some more investigation....knackered front differential. Thats it and thats that! Moving on with my Land Rover experience.
Guys,
Where is a good place to buy a Rotoflex?
Do I need special bolts when I pull it apart and replace it?
Are the bolts single use?
I may as well replace my Rotoflex to avoid problems later.
Looks like my Discovery II and I are still married.
