Default Driver window

I did a search and found out what was wrong with my driver window...

taking the panel off and the plasitic protective film, I notice a moon shape gear at the bottom....I went ahead and took all the 8mm bolts off, i raised the window so that it wont be in my way...

How do I install this moon shape gear back? or do I need a new assembly...Im stomped on this step....I went to atlanticbritish and looked up window regulator and that part is $210, but it doenst look like the on in my rover...its an 03 disco II by the way....any help would greatly be appreciated....

From further inspection, I see what could of happened….

On of the white rollers that attaches to the bottom of the window seems to have broken off….the white plastic roller is deformed most likely due to heat....this most likely put more strain on the part where the moon shaped gear attached to the braces….

When I purchase new regulator does is come all new tracks and rollers, all I swap is the motor correct? This is the part where I’m confused….

Try, http://www.roverlandparts.com/index....S&Category=411
for a decent price on a guaranted used unit.

Ive got the same problem, ive been pushing my window up and down for a couple weeks now. Need to save up time and money before it can be fixed. But, you might try looking here http://www.roverconnection.com/they have aftermarketregulators for fairly cheap.$79

Hope it helps. Let me know how it turns out.

When I replaced those things back in the old days as a technician, one of the guys had this nifty little suction cup device. All it is is two suction cups and a string to keep em together. One suction cup on each side of the window and the string will hold it up against the top of the door. Could rig one yourself as I don't know where you buy one other then like snap-on or mac tools.

I replaced my driver's side regulator back in December. Same issue: broken plastic roller. I bought the aftermarket regulator from Rover Connection. Comparing it to the original, I cannot see any difference. I just used duct tape up over the top of the door frame to hold the window up while working on it.

Ya I would purchase some lithium grease and give the track a good spray down.
