Hi Guys,

New to the forum and new to rovers and love the site.

Yesterday I adjusted the drivers door lock mechanism to make it so it was easier to open and it worked great. This morning I cant open the drivers door at all, from the inside or outside, with the key unlock fob or remote. The drivers door will not budge.

I am assuming the actuator went bad but I cant open the door to replace it, any ideas?

 

Welcome to the forum! So from my understanding you can't crawl in and open it from then inside handle? is the door unlocking when you pull the handle? is it just the drivers door or all of them? if its all of them and they key manually is not unlocking them or the key fob it could be something in your BCU (someone please correct my if I'm wrong)

If its only the drivers door and it won't manually unlock from the inside it could be an actuator or it may not i can't be 100% on my rover the passenger door actuator doesn't work i can still open the door as long as i manually pull the handle inside once to unlock it. if yours isn't unlocking manually then IMO its probably not the actuator and its something with the handles or door release.

 

thank you, its just the drivers door, all the others are fine. At this point im thinking its not the actuator but something do with the door lock itself?
The confusing part is since the outside handle and the inside handle have separate controls to unlock the door im thinking its not the actuator but im not sure.

 

if the actuator fails the door should still open its somthing with the door itself being jammed but what is causing it i have no idea
