Default dead drivers seat

Hi all,

I have a similar problem on my 01 Disco, 130k miles. The driver's seat is totally dead. All the functions are dead and no sound eminates from the seat when switches are operated. All the fuses under the seat are good. I swapped the relay with the passenger seat (which is working) and the passenger seat works with the driver's seat relay. I swapped the seat switch and again got nuthin...

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Did you just do a visual inspection on the fuses? You might try replacing the fuses with another just to be sure the fuse is not the problem.

Yes, I just did a visual of each fuse and none looked to be blown, but it's worth a try, I guess..

You can also use a test light to check the fuse and make sure that the fuse is getting power.

Looks like I might have to take a second, closer look at the fuses.
Thanks for the idea.

Default Fuse box under drivers seat

How often do these fail?

Maybe I leaned on the seat control and the fuse blew?
Hi where exactly is the fuse box under the drivers seat located? Do i have to remove the seat or any trim to get to it?

Undo the front bolts. Loosen the rear bolts. Both front bolts and the rear inboard bolt are .. just bolts, easy to undo.

The one outer rear bolt is a bolt without a captive nut on the underside, you'll need to put a wrench to hold the actual nut on the underside of the car to get it to loosen.

Tilt the seat back.

My experience has been that the wiring harnesses get knackered up and sliced / short out with seat movement *if they are not properly secured* with the clamps and vinyl sleeve, which then shorts out and causes the fuses to blow. This *may* be your problem.

Of course could also just be a bad motor causing the same.

You don't need to remove anything to get to the seat fuses. They're literally under the front edge of the frame.
