Default Driveshaft Difference 2000/2003

Does anyone know if a 2000 Discovery front driveshaft will work in my 03 Disco. Thanks for any help.

Nope.
It is to long, only by like a 1/2", the '03-'04 transmission is bigger so it uses a shorter front driveshaft.
You might beable to make it work, if you can get on for next to free try it out.

The Driveshaft from an 03 has a slip-shaft, I know my DS isn't fully extended, if the 02 has a slipshaft, it might work.

So does that mean a 2003 will work on a 2000, but a 2000 won't work on a 2003?

The transmission is longer on the 03 and 04, so that pushes the transfer case back, so that makes the front shaft longer and the rear shaft shorter.
I'm sure that some have used either one, because like spike555 said, it's less than an inch. I don't really want to try it myself though.

If you buy an aftermarket shaft, they don't even distinguish between the two, usually. Which is probably a good option. I think Will Tillery has good prices on the Tom Woods shafts.
