When greasing "anything", you should pump till you see clean grease coming out, this is relevant to the UJ's and Driveshafts

There are 1 shot packs available for the swivel joints that contain exactly the right amount of grease.

But do not go to the extreeme, some people tend to over do it and can cause the seals to fail.
Also grease the joints at least twice a year if you do much wheeling or every 12,000 miles of normal driving.

I service the driveshafts at every oil change. One of my NCLR buddies services his everytime he goes off road.

Grease the u-joints at every oil change, if it is winter time and it is cold do not grease them unless the truck has been sitting inside for a few hours.

As for the swivel *****, 20 pumps of grease every 6 months.
If you use a synthetic grease your u-joints will last longer.
