Default Drivetrain backlash???

How much backlash is normal for a 96 discovery with auto trans? Mine has about an inch if measured on the park brake drum, of back and forth movement. All ujoints are good, the rubber rear diff connector seems to be good, the front has very minimal lash, as I would expect.

It seems that I am getting more than should be. I'm brand new to the Land Rover world, but not to 4x4s.

Any help is appreciated.

Default RE: Drive train backlash???

Good informative post Pilk.

No worries about the lash. Your Disco has A gear drive transfer case which will, by design have more backlash.
