Ok, that really sucks! I will drive mine till it blows up, the block will be garbage anyways. This way I will have some money to get new wheels and tires!

Just take care of it like there isn't a tick. From everything the Rover mechanics tell me it could last a long, long time...

Mine ticks, and most of the ones I test drove did too. Mine sounds a bit louder, but she runs OK and had a lot of work last year so I think it is OK. And if she blows, she blows. I'll have parts to sell then

Anybody have audio of this "tick" ?? I'm just curious. I always hear talk about the infamous tick, but really have never experienced it. I mean it's a 30 year old American designed overhead valve engine with an archaic push rod valve train design. If I hear one that was quiet I would think someone packed the valve covers with sawdust or something. Another source of many "ticks" I have run into in the past was the fuel injectors. They make a ticking sound as well and I have had guys come to me before thinking they needed a valve job only to find out it was a noisy injector.

Seems like someone hear a tick and the first thing they go for is "my block is bad" and not the simple stuff.
