These trucks have electronic locking converters that are designed to lock at around 52 MPH. I would drop by a tranny shop.

ok here it goes... first time i had this issue i went to check codes and try to find out the cause. used google, alldata and asking questions to my mechanic friends. i called the last owner and asked him when did he service the trans last and he said this happend to him exactly same codes and symtoms. he had the trans service and problem went away. this was 6 months ago i just bought this car last month. so i didnt actually check the fluid my self since it was just service. so went under the car and saw red fluid dripping a little. so i started the car and took filling plug out and started putting fluid in trans. it took 4 quarts and a little more. so no rocket scince here. Keep It Simple Stupid i say. now car is fixed no more codes and no more problems

Might want to consider replacing the filter and ATF again in around a 1000 miles. Since it ran low on fluid, there will be a lot of burned residue that will need to come out so you don't have an early tranny failure from this.

i want to do that but like i said there is a leak at the transfer case. red fluid is coming from a rectangular plate (i think) gear oil is leaking from al the way at the top i will clean it all good and recheck.

Are you saying you have ATF leaking from the inspection plate on the t/case, if you you had better change it today before it ruins your t/case, should be a 90W, range gear oil or a 75W/140 for HD use.

HD=heavy duty

The transfer case requires gear lube NOT ATF, just like your engine requires motor oil and NOT AFT.
