EDIT - Do you have a photo of the bottom of the battery? Just curious how you made it flat - I have an idea in my head but I just want to see how your battery holder is set up.

This is the VSR that I got - it's IP65 - not sure if i want to keep it under the hood...
I got a FUSE BOX as well - If I decide to have it under the hood, I will probably get a better secured water proof one...
Also got the multi switches and dual 12V charger for the back...

Thanks for the clear answer - I dont want my trunk any heavier because I have an RTT more towards the back.

Ill Have to take it out and take a photo. I guess I didn’t take any photos intermittently.
But the tray is held at the lowest elevation to fit the battery’s and terminals without standing proud of the hood line & just high enough from the bottom to ride the wheelwell with enough room to fit two batteries... make sense? I built a support from 1”x1” square stock to sport front from under. Tacked some capture nuts & utilized enough original mounting points. It’s quite a bit more secure then the Original plastic housing.

I tried scribbling a diagram of each piece.

I could make this as a kit for a D2 if anyone is interested. But it sounds like there out there already - plus that’s half the fun.

Let’s see how you mount that switch board too!
I seem to Put way too much time trying to place switches, orientation, & color to match the interior as best I can.

I'm actually interested - if I can keep my trunk that's a plus!

Let me know how much it'll run!

Thanks

I would be interested too. Especially for an 03/04 D2. From the little bit of searching I did it seems like the facelift head lights need to be considered for dual battery trays and fitment.

Currently I carry lithium battery jump starter pack. Would like dual batteries for a host of reasons.

Do a search for Columbia Overland dual battery tray. They offer a nice design. but unfortunately, are no longer in business. There are some pics on the Net and forums of their design.

I could be interested as well as this would save me some time working on it outside this winter and minimize my downtime. Not having a garage or driveway sucks...not that mine fits in any normal parking structure haha
