Yes Sir it is doing what it should be doing. So I would think you have an issue with your charging cable possibly. Have another to try?

Is there some stupid restriction Apple would put on it to prevent charging?

Do you have a usb power adapter to plug into the cigarette lighter? Test your usb with that and see if the amps are different.

Most iphones require 1 to 2.1 amps. 1 amp is slow charge and 2.1 is a quicker charge. I wouldn't think the 3 amps would be an issue.

Have you tried another cable yet?

I tried it on a Galaxy Tablet but it still doesn't charge. When I plug it in, the tablet recognizes the charger but puts a red X through the lighting bolt and when I go to settings it says it is not charging. Could 3A be too much?

I used a 5A fuse with the fuse wire tap that was recommended.

I would change the fuse to a 3 AMP and see if that makes a difference.

I tried this but got the same result. Do I need some sort of resistor to cut down on the amps or should I just take out the charging ports?

I don't know....not sure why it would not be working. I did notice the reviews on Amaznon complained about it not charging as well.
