It's all done through the OBDII port. The other cables you see advertised are for non OBDII port vehicles.

I don't have 3 Amigos...I don't want to get them either. Questions regarding Option A & B from ABS Mod - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.

-Will Option B prevent them from ever happening, or is that just to fix it after it does?
-If I screw up Option B, can I still do Option A?
-Will Option A prevent it from happening?

I'd like to take care of this before brake fluid corrodes plugs n such, but if there's no value added, I'd like to know.

Has anyone used Module Master? They do an exchange Wabco module for $450. I mention them because they were well thought of back when I had an Audi A6.

Yes, option B will prevent the 3 amigos from ever happening even if you're one of the lucky few who has not yet had to deal with them as it corrects the modulator problem at it's core.
Personally, I would not recomend option A. Option A leaves itself open for a lot of varied results and has much greater potential to screw up.
Option B is simple, really hard to screw up and it WORKS! I do recoment however that you solder and heat shrink every wire splice as the writeup outlines. Don't try cutting corners like using wire nuts or something. The quality of your connections is critical.

OK, I could screw up Opt B...can swap out a motor but am electrical illiterate. I'm sure I could make it with a couple posts asking for clarification if necessary though.

So does the $139 shuttle valve upgrade fix the same issue, or a different one? According to the website (which I've not been able to dig up), it fixes "the most common cause" of the 3 Amigos.

No, the shuttle valve is not where the real issue lies. However, shuttle valves can also need replacing although I've not had to do that yet on any of the 3-amigo fixex I've performed. The writeup will walk you through how to test the shuttle valves with a volt meter to make sure they're working properly and how to inspect the seals. If your shuttle valves are good, then no need to replace them just continue on with the ground fault issue.

If you're anywhere near the Denver area, I'd be glad to help.
