Default Easy Question

I just picked up a 95 Disco and have yet to put it into 4WD. The problem I am having is knowing how to do it. I tried it in park with the brake on but it is not going into to either Hi or Low (I didnt want to force anything). I would read the owners manual but I do not have one and the placard is missing from the center console.

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: Easy Question

The t/case shifts like an H.
While the tranny is in N move the t/case shifter to the left, High Lock is left and low, Low Lock is left anf up.
If you levae the t/case shifter where it is right no you will be in an unlock High range, if you push the shifter all the way forward you will be in unlocked Low.

Do Disco's come in full time AWD and 2WD-4WD? My Disco is always in AWD and I can only shift the transfer case from Hi to Lo.

*Nevermind, I found out they are full time AWD.

Default RE: Easy Question

You have a high and low open (not locked) and you have a
high and low locked, that is when you get a 50% front and 50% rear power to the wheels.
Never use the locked transfer case high or low on the road you will not have the
transfer case long that way.
