Question ECU & Instrument Cluster Replacement

Hello all,

Is there a write up for replacing the ECU & Instrument cluster, 2001 Disco II? I searched and am not finding anything. Hoping this may be something I can tackle with a little bit of help :-)

Thank you!!

The repair is very straight forward in terms of repair difficulty, it is just remove and replaced, but you will need a high level scanner(Autologic) to pair the cluster and ECU to the BCU after repair.

Uh Oh, now you have me thinking perhaps I need to replace the BCU vs. ECU.

If you can find a matched set (cluster , BCU and ECU) it can be done without a scan tool. Be sure its correct of your truck ....SAI or non SAI. After swapping switch the ignition to the on position for 15 min prior to starting the truck.

program ecu and bcu
if it is only to install and put again in another truck exactly the same, I have simply been informed that you only have to wait 20 minutes for the IDM to be configured (in case the complete fuse box is not changed too)

I've never had the IC, & BCU ever sync up by leaving the key on. With a Nanocom you can sync a lower mileage cluster to the BCU or vise versa & it will go with whatever unit has the higher mileage. You can also simply just turn off the ODO flashing via Nanocom as well without syncing anything.
