Good day everyone

Have a 2002 disco II with only the flat 4 wire. I would like to add a electric brake controller so I can use my utility trailer with electric brakes.

Anyone have an luck or direction in sourcing and installing one. Nothing in literature. U-Haul claims they can do it

A brake controller will not work with the 4 wire setup as there is no power to the brakes. Which is the blue wire. You'll need to upgrade to a 7 pin, wire two of the additional wires for power to the battery and the blue wire to the brake controller and the brake controller to the battery, ground and brake pedal wire that lights you bake lights.
I'll be installing a new one in a week and will film and then post the video on YouTube so you can see how it's done.

 

The utility connector behind the right tail light should have all of the necessary connections. All you have to do is source a harness that goes from the LR connector to a 7-pin.
