Default Electric fan

I thought the electric fan only came on at a certain temp. (212 springs to mind)

Mine comes on whenever the heater is on. If the heater temp is set to max hotness it shuts off. Drop it a degree, it comes on again.

Has it always been doing this?

I've never taken any notice of it, quite embarrassingly.

Just fitted new water pump and temps rose a bit while I was getting all the air out. Got me thinking about fans and their jobs, and I notice this is linked to the heater somehow.

???

If the A/C is on, the condenser fan will also come on if ambient temp is over 80-some-odd degrees

Ah. Yes. I remember something like that now. Has to be plus 80 outside. Which it just about is right now.

Thanks.

If Econ isn't turned on the AC Compressor still runs so I'd think the fan would go on/off as well.

Regardless of the AC the fan should be coming on at 208 iirc.
