I now realize that it was supplied with a micro controller. ( small manual dial attached to the relay housing) I'm running off the controller I have for my water pump.....it has provisions for fan control.
I will hook up the little supplied controller tomorrow so I can make an assessment of its worth.
But it worked great today. No issues and I was able to switch it off while I played in the creek.

I'm definitely curious to see some mpg and temps numbers.

Did it feel like it freed up some horsepower?

well it is smoother and no more loud fan. going to drive it all week, to work, so I will be checking mpg this week. it did feel like it was a little more spry, but that could be in my head. mostly off road over the weekend, so I will get some in town and highway miles, this week

Deer season is over now....so I have a bit more time on my hands with the rover. Still my daily driver....fixed my ignition switch. Looking to maybe do a different setup on it in the future. It's not all that complicated other then working out the steering wheel lock.

i hooked up the supplied controller, last night. it is basically a regulator. letting full speed kick on at dialed/selected temp. not as fancy as my controller, but simpler. my water pump is dialed in at 188 this fan is dialed in at 190.
