Default electrical

My 1995, Discovery needs help.... For the last month, the following has been happening very often and with the holidays now come and gone, its time to correct the problem.
This is the 3.9 with older style distributor and such....
While driving and without any specific circumstance happening, the engine tac., head lights and radio will start to malfunction, all at the same time. The engine tac. simplyreturns to0 as if the engine has stopped, the head lamps will brighten enough so that people flash their lights as if I'm driving with my high-beams on, and the radio will loose its volume. They all seem to happen together, and it may last for a full minute. When it starts to act this way, itmay be an occasionaloccurance or it may do it repeatedly durring a trip.
Are these Discovery equiped with a voltage regulator? May that be the problem? Also, in the last few days, the car may stall at an intersection, once when this happened, I actually did need to use a jumper pack to restart the engine??

Please help soon as I hate to pay the high fees the dealerships get for their labor.
Thanks, Lennie

Make sure that you get the lifetime replacement warrenty one, it will go bad again.
