On another side note, the vehicle cranks just fine so the battery is ok.

Compelete list of codes before I cleared and re started the vehicle were :

P1668 - which is the security code
P0560 - system voltage error
P1536 - AC circuit error
P0340 - camshaft error

The vehicle displays all lights when in "run" on the ignition, it turns over just fine and the check engine lights turns off while cranking the vehicle. comes back on when the vehicle fails to start.

After clearing the codes, P0560 and P1536 stayed on

Ok so I swapped the interior fuse block with my functioning fuse block (out of my rover) and while inside her vehicle the alarm system would no let me turn over the engine. Is this a fault or a security thing?

You might have to let it sit a while for the IDM in the fuse box to sync with the BCU. Maybe 5-10 minutes or so. Possibly with the key on.

Also I think the fuse boxes are different from 99-02 and from 03-04, but I cannot remember if it's the under hood or under dash box that's different. One of them
Has been superceded to the new style.

Well, mine is a 2001 and hers is a 2002. They both looks identical. Tomorrow I will have the permanent replacement to install and I'll let it sit for some time and hopefully it will sync. If the vehicle still turns over without running I'll take a look at the crank sensor.

And thank you very much for walking me through this.

Yeah, if it cranks but doesn't start, it's probably not an IDM/BCU problem. Crank sensor is a good place to look.

Is the red alarm light flashing quickly with the key in?

Maybe you can lock / unlock about 5 times with the FOB.

Was the battery powered up with the hood up and the hood switch up?

Maybe that spoiled it and the Rover thinks it is getting stolen.

The alarm light is flashing and when i swapped the fuse block the battery was disconnected with the hood and door open. when i reconnected the battery the hood was indeed open haha.

She has a funky key system. One for the alarm and one for the ignition (curtsey of the LR Dealership)

The new fuse block is installed and the alarm issue has ceased. However it still only turns over but is not turn in on. I'm a Bit lost on which way to go
