Default Electrical Problem. Need help

My 98 disco's RPM gage works on and off. When it's working, the horn and rear windows work. When it doesn't move, horn does nor honk and the rear windows don't roll down. and If they are down, they don't roll up.
Pretty crazy. Any suggestions?

Default RE: Electrical Problem. Need help

not quite as crazy as you think. I think there is a weak relay in the electrical system. check the fuse diagram in the owner's manual and see which one/ones have effects on the systems you are have problems with. the other thing to check is the vehicle grounding points. They can malfunction and cause some funky things. Mine is a 96 disco, so I won't tell you where they are on your vehicle, but there maybe others that have had similar problems. gotta love a rover. duboff
