Emblem Key
IF, believe correctly. The key for the cargo door is for the emblem, not to unlock the door. I was only given a Gas Door Key and the Door/Ignition key. That cargo door will not open any longer, i was told long ago, i need to use that key to take off the emblem to fix it... well i have no key for it.. what do i do, to get a key. this car has had 18 owners, i'm sure its long lost.
Take anything flat and pop the emblem off the cargo door handle, the tip of any key, a flathead screw driver, anything. Pocket knife, anything, really. There is alittle notch on the bottom of the emblem just for this.
Take silicon spray and spray and spray the handle and all around it, spray it good. Open and close the door, work the handle a dozen times, once it is open spray the latch and use bike chain lube on the slider for the cargo door.
Now, do this no less than every 6 months to keep the cargo door working well.
One key works in everything, fuel door, ignition, cargo door, pass doors, glove box.

Then the key hole next to the emblem is to unlock the cargo door? My ignition key doesnt even come close to fitting in it. Going to go work on the truck now what you told me to do. check bac later
Alright, worked just as you said, i think when i asked once before, i mis understood.
I of course, went around while i was there and lubricated all doors and locks. using silicone lubricant spray. Might as well while i'm there
. Thanks work great now.
For the keys. i'm going to go look in my manual and read all i can about the keys.

Well it looks like i got a real beat up abused disco. But at least it went to a good owner who is going to get it hopefully, working like it should. I really do need to meet up with you spike, or something else to compare. Would be great to look at the same model and how differnt they may act.
