Engine Bay Color

Engine Bay Color
Hello Everyone,
I have been searching for an 2004 Discovery since early October. I was hooked when I was out hunting and a friend of my brothers came up to our camp and hunted with us for a few days. My brother and I were on quads, his buddy followed in a Discovery. I was amazed at how easy that Discovery handled those nasty trails! I finally found one with great maintenance history, serviced regularly at Land Rover Dealerships with only 89,000 miles.
The truck is silver but the color code tag in the engine bay is gone. Looking at the back of the firewall, the color is white, as well as the front support in front of the radiator. I have inspected the truck and everywhere else is silver with the exception of the engine bay. Carfax shows one accident in 06 to left rear, it hit a poll. I have looked at several pictures online and some appear to be white on the firewall, but darker Disco's appear to be the same as the exterior. Is this normal?
I have already upgraded the front drive shaft and plan on doing a lift by the end of the year.
Thanks for any insight you can give!

Not sure what to tell you here but in the event that the previous owner just simply decided to do a paint job, than honestly you should be greatful. I myself want to get my Disco painted but it will take some time as its quick expensive these days unless you have the connections or are capable of doing it yourself. Hopeful in you case the truck was not involved in any accident. Cheers and good luck.
PS: The VIN number MIGHT over a clue about the original color, but Im not fully sure. As should the vehicle registration form.

I looked at another 04 disco in November at a dealership in Las Vegas and took some pictures of it. Just found the photos, thought they were deleted, and they too look white on the firewall and on the inside of the hood and hinges. Perhaps this was a base coat for the Zambezi Silver? Looking throughout my truck, it doesn't appear to be a new paint job on it.
ZGPhoto, I'll try to PM you my VIN and see what you can decipher, I looked all over for the color code tag, but its gone.
