Default Engine dies

Hey folks, I need some advice. My 2001 Disco II dies after about 30 minutes of running. It refuses to restart until it cools for about 20 minutes and then runs fine for a few minutes and dies again. My first thought was the “crankshaft speed and position sensor” but it appears OK although it did have a small glob of metal filings on it. Before I purchase new sensor does anyone else have a suggestion? Ignition coil packs perhaps? I scanned the computer but no DTC codes and when it runs the check engine light is not on.
As always thanks for the help.

if you want to prove the crankshaft position sensor you need to heat the vehicle up and when it fails artificially cool off the parts that will affect starting. For example the crankshaft position sensor. If it takes twenty minutes to start take a hose and dump water on the crankshaft position sensor and it will cool it down quicker. That way the other parts of the engine will still be hot and if it isn't that part you will know.

plus you can get to the sensor by pulling up the driver side fender if you dont have rear AC.

You need a new crank sensor, pick one up from your local auto parts store.
This is classic crank position sensor failing symptoms.
