Default Engine Swap Price?

How much should a shop charge me to swap a rebuilt 4.6 into an 04 discovery?

How much would the dealer charge me?

It all depends on the labor rate of the place your bringing it. Our dealer is 115.00 an hour. What is on it? Heads? Intake? That all matters too. If it's in a longblock form it wont be as much labor. Factor in oil, filter, coolant, and such. I would say longblock 1500. - 2000. just labor at the dealer.

Dealer? You know the dealer he always wins! ha. I'm sure he could find an outside shop to it much cheaper than that. I mean hell I'd do it for a G. As long as it's a full longblock.

It's a full longblock. Including replacing the water pump and thermostat. Looking for price of labor only, not parts.

I've been quoted 1800 plus parts by a private shop.

I was wondering if I should just go to the dealer at that price.
