Default Evap emission error question

I have a 2003 Disco throwing an evap emission code. I have replaced the gas cap, I ceared the code and the the check engine light came back on with the same code when I check it with OBD II What next? Is there any way to disconnect the evap sensor to get the dash light off. I am assuming that the evap system (small leak) does not affect performance.

So, per the code number you have a small leak which could be anywhere from the tank to the engine compartment and just about needs a smoke test to locate it.

any ideas on what a smoke test would cost? I'd rather disconnect the sensor if possible, any ideas on if that can be done?
