Default EVAP Engine Light

I am new to Land Rover Forums and Land Rovers in general. I am also a member of Audi forums and they are very helpful with the questions I have about Audi's. Hopefully I can get the same hospitality from LRF. Anyway, I own a 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II and there have a check engine light(CEL) on, the code its throwing is saying that there is a leak in the EVAP system. Has anyone delt with this CEL before and know how I could possibly fix this. The shop I went to quoted me a minimum of $250 to fix it, I am very intuitive with working on cars so I was hoping to fix this issue myself. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

this might sound stupid, but check to make sure your gas cap is tight enough. Yes i do mean the gas cap that you take of to fill up the tank with fuel. That would be what i did first

Yes, I always make sure that the car is shut off and I have the gas cap on tight. That was one of the things the dealership warned me about when I bouight it.

Do you know the specific code that you are pulling. It would be easier... I had a similar problem
