Default Evap readiness, exhaust, M and S

So, M and S flashing on startup every 3rd time maybe.

No codes listed in Ultragauge, but I can press ‘clear codes’ and the M and S goes away, allowing me to drive.

Engaging reverse seems to be more harsh than it used to be.

Exhaust is on its last legs, hangers rusted through. Leak at the last joint. About to pull the trigger on a full system from Rimmers.

Inspection time, fails because of readiness indicators etc.

I’m thinking M and S is linked to the exhaust shoddiness possibly. I’m sure there are more leaks than I can see.

What’s the best way I can read the readiness indicators myself? Try and get a handle on what’s going on.

edit. I also have a Nanocom which I’ll bust out tomorrow.

I’m not at all up on this but isn’t the M&S transmission codes (Manual and Sport)? I don’t see how that could be related to the exhaust.

That’s a very good point.

I figured my inspection evap readiness is exhaust linked, I’d joined the dots.

Whats the at-home way of monitoring those readiness values?

So the nanocom didn’t have much to say apart from this code in the Slabs section.

I can’t find much on this code. Could it have been throwing the M and S?

Everything else seems clear. I have an idle misfire. Am thinking that’s not connected.

Can anyone chip in on how to read the readiness values? I know after clearing a code that triggers the value to be not ready until the cycles have been done, but I’d like to take the car back for inspection knowing that’s complete.

Thanks.

So I think I figured out what was going on.

The XYZ switch was throwing a trans code p0705, that was triggering the M and S. (Cleaned the contacts)

When I used the UG to clear the codes, it reset the readiness monitors to Unready, needing the drive 60-70 miles process.

Of course there is the conundrum of how the UG was communicating with the trans when it’s not supposed to. (It wasn’t reading trans codes, just had the ability to knock the M and S lights off)

anyway. P0705 cleared, M and S staying away, readiness monitors satisfied, inspection passed, oil change and trans fluid swap today… awaiting the next issue.

See more about my M and S issue in this other thread I hijacked.
