Stay safe and remember Land Rovers tips on water crossings:

Whenever possible, cross water at a ford.

As long as it is safe to do so, walk the stream before you try it in a vehicle. Use a stick to gauge depth and pinpoint underwater hollows.

Do not cross deep fast-flowing streams.

In deep waves create a small bow wave about one metre in front of the bumper.

Accelerate as you enter the water until a bow wave has formed.

Try to keep it about one meter in front of the bumper to keep water away from the fan electronics.

Maintain a speed that keeps the bow wave flowing in front of the bumper.

Remember, the aim is to create a gentle wave, not a surfing wave!

You may also want to cover the grille with a plastic bag or similar to help prevent water ingress into the engine bay. Also use dielectric grease and WD-40 to keep electrics happy!

I'm hunkered down with a case of beer, water and various types of dried meat. I'll see you all on the other side!

Dont drive thru flooded streets. You don't know what is in front of you. I saw the remnants ofa RR wheel that was cut in half by a stone curb that was underwater in the middle of the road.

Move the rovers to high ground now if possible.
try not to drive through high water which will be muddy and full
of debris.

Try to keep out of the water period.
You may need the rover when the water regresses.

No one should be in the water to be a hero.

Government says evacuate - then just do it and do it now.

Keep the rover away from tall trees which will fall and crush it and you.
Put gasoline into the rover - fill the tank.

you can use the rover for heat and sleeping in.

I'm in Burlington, we never get anything bad. Just some streets flooding, almost never up to the houses. The whole town is a hill, it all just flows into the lake.

I wish it were the same down here in Montpelier, 1400 people are already out of power and the storm isn't even here yet.
