Default exhaust flange help!!!!

hey guys,

while doing my cdl install i had to cut the bolts for the rear collector flange...they were rusted, stripped and just not moving... now i'm having a hard time drilling holes in the flange and i still have to do the muffler side...

i think i just wanna cut the stupid things off and hav a regular 3 bolt flange welded on at a local muffler shop....

-should it be okay to drive the truck with the exhaust manifolds attached...but the muffler and everything else down stream not attached?

-should i have them do anything else to the exhaust...like mufflers or cats while i'm there?

-i have 126k miles on the orginal cats.....no lights....truck sounds fine..

Think your local autozone would have one and you cut yours off?

Other than possibly slipping apart and being obnoxiously loud, it would be fine to drive to the shop. Could pop a c-clamp on the flanges to hold it 'til you got to the shop.

Hmm, maybe you could get another 2-piece flange and grind or cut the mounting ears(bolt hole area) off the old one, so you would have a new flange on both sides.
