Default Exhaust gasket-tick -be -gone (for now )

newer "tin" tandem or 2 per side exhaust gaskets.....BAD
old school "sandwich " style 4 per side gaskets.....GOOOOOOOOD !
When I did the head gasket job last summer I installed the newer gaskets (err6733 from A/B), no probs till this spring when the engine developed a "tick" which as has been discussed on the forum can be several things. I had replaced the rocker shaft assys last fall and couldn't make myself believe that this was a valve noise issue, long story somewhat shorter....the noise was a leaking tin style ex gasket....and get this boys....first I tryed to tighten the bolts and they weren't even a little loose...next I unbolted the manifold and removed the gaskets and they "looked " good...no blow-by or breaks. Installed the new gaskets ERC3606 and tick is gone ! For what it's worth..you could hear this ticking louder from the side of the truck and fairly loud in the truck as I drove. But listening with the hood open it was hard to pinpoint. This was an easy and well worth it fix, hope this helps someone.
