Default Exhaust manifold to downpipe gasket

Anybody using something different for the manifold to downpipe rather than the flat metal gasket? Seems like they son't seal that well.

if the studs and surfaces are in good shape a fresh gasket should seal good enough. Now any prolonged time with a busted motor mount or excessive vibration may change that. I've found that studs like to work free some and make it impossible to get the nut tight enough. It's a pain but pulling the manifold so you have room to work and pulling the old studs and chasing threads with a tap and new studs fully seated helps a lot.

Spray the regular gasket with copper coat before you install it.

X2. No noise from mine in 9 months with copper spray on both sides.

Is the copper spray the same as the copper anti-seize?

heres a link for ya. It helps get a better seal is all. I believe what it does is fill in micro imperfections. It also helps it stick a bit better if I recall. Last I used it was back in July so my memory is a bit hazy.
