exhaust manifold torque

Default exhaust manifold torque

The Rave has 2 numbers 28 and 40, I went 28 But I think I need a tad more any insights ?

On what pages does the RAVE give those two different numbers?

That's for the downpipe. Step 3 right above what you circled shows 28 lbf.ft. for the exhaust manifold.

But Richard is correct - the entry for the exhaust manifolds in the Torque Wrench Settings section says 40 lbf.ft.

@WaltNYC there in lies my confusion, I am going to check with my local Rover shop, that torque summary tends to be different for some unknown reason - maybe V8 vs td5

Mostly my Disco has a new sound a nice deep exhaust note, I suspect it is the 1st time in ages everything has been nice and tight. But just after doing heads I am a tad paranoid.

You can base the torque off of the size of the bolt and go with 40' lbs.
I would also use anti-sieze.

I torqued my exhaust manifolds to 40 last time with no problems.
