I replaced my muffler and piping from the muffler back. I used a magnaflow muffler. I told the guy at the shop I wanted a mellow tone but not too loud and raspy. It's loud enough to know it has a V8 but mellow to where it doesn't hum or resonate in the cabin. Couldn't be happier. You barely know it has an exhaust when driving. Like I said, you hear it but in no way is is offensive or noisy in the cabin. I have a single oval tip muffler. I'll post a video If I have the time and can figure out how to post it lol.

Don't waste your money, instead get your front drive shaft rebuilt if it hasn't been done yet.
Most of those systems are more noise and very little improvement, if you want a little change, cut off your resinator for a little more mellow sound.

cutting the resonator off doesnt cost anything... that is the difference.

I just did mine for the sound. Total cost was under $200, and thats because the rear pipe was bent and creased by the previous owner and was choking the flow, so I had it replaced. They have Borla Cat back systems with both single and dual exhaust but they are over $500. If it is just sound you are looking for start with the resonator. If that isn't enough I'd replace the center muffler with a mild magnaflow muffler.

Yes, start with the resonator. It'll make your Disco sound like it actually has ***** without being obnoxiously loud.

i cut my resonator off, about 1/2 inch behind the resonator, then cut the turndown off the resonator, and clamped it back onto the exhaust, fit perfect over each other, and it was free, took about a half hour to do, and sounded great!!

i just happened to be at Summit Racing in Tallmadge Ohio, and on the clearance rack, they had a Center 2.5" inlet, offset 2.5" outlet, stainless oval muffler, for 40 dollars, instead of the orininal $100, because it had a small dent in it. i cut the old muffler off as close to the muffler as i could get, welded this one on. the new muffler was flatter, but actually about 1" longer than stock, so everything fit back together like a glove, with the pipes fitting into each other. i had to cut off/re-weld the hanger onto the new muffler because it was so close to the old muffler.

i wasnt planning on getting a muffler, but it was on clearance s i said what the heck. i WAS going to go with Borla or Edelbrock SDT, but i couldnt pass up the 40 dollars stainless magnaflow.
