I ruined the last part of the exhaust system last week while off roading. Luckily I was able to get an inexpensive replacement from a salvage yard.

Is there a recommended type of hardware (bolts and nuts) that are best to use. Such as grade 8?

I'm no expert, but I don't see any need for Grade 8. You might want to use stainless steel fasteners for rust resistance, and don't be shy with the anti-seize.

 

I like stainless but unlikely you will encounter any rust in Charlotte. If you put liberal amounts of red silicone on the threads they will never rust nor sieze.
