I had to think about why changing the sway bar links would add articulation but I think I figured it out...the angle of the link relative to the bar changes the leverage on the bar. So if your angles are not right the bar can seem stiffer than it is supposed to be?

I always wondered why the need to get 'drop' links.

Also interesting that the LR3 drop links fit on lifted D2's. Thanks.

@DiscoveryTD5 I would suspect springs before shocks, I air down to 18 these days but was at 25 in that video. Shocks damp the bumps but springs should soak it up, if your springs are shot you get a lot more body roll. I am at the end of line in our group and I do not see all that much roll in anyone ahead of me.

It is hard to say though, we went down the bad road to Hale Creek, and even then I did not have much side to side roll.

Any decent suspension shop should be able to diagnose your springs and shocks.

i have the tf 3 inch hd lift. you definitelty need the lengthen your brake lines and abs abs in the rear, front is just long enough but the rear are way to short. I was swapping front bearings at the same time so i used the extra front abs lines as a swap. they are actually a bit too long but worked well. I also swappe the older front sway bar links to the rear. They are just three inches longer. the ki came with links for the front but not the rear . they are just about perfect for the lift in the rear.

the rear setup flexed enough that my coils will pop out, i had to install limiting straps.

Baileyrockhound,

Excellent feedback!

I presume you have extended shocks as part of your 3” lift. Do you have the TF +2 or +3 shocks?

If +2 shocks result in unseating springs then you have solved my dilemma, I will stick with stock length shocks.

Not sure if i would go with stock length shocks
you dont want the shock to be the limiting strap

The shocks are used as the axle down travel limit from the factory, so I think I am safe? I figure shocks reach the end of their travel slowly so there is not much impact. Different story when shocks are used to stop axle up travel.

The +2 shock idea just doesn’t seem worth it for only 1” extra travel.

i will check to see where I sit right now in the range of travel. Hopefully the 3” springs don’t take me more than 1” past mid travel.
