Default Fabricators, I need some help

I saw an arb bumper on craigslist for sale but it didn't come with any of the mounting brackets. I have seen plenty of threads stating that the arb mounts are weak anyway so I didn't think that it would be a big deal. Now I have the original bumper off but I am not quite sure how to mount it to the frame. I will post some pics off where I am at and hopefully you can tell me how to proceed. I have tried searching with no luck so please help.

find a set of ARB mounting brackets and copy them but make them out of thicker metal if you're worried about them being too weak.

I called arb in Seattle WA, and they told me that it would take them a couple of months to get the brackets. I figured that there would be a way to fab one. Here are some pics of where I am stuck at. Has anyone made brackets for something like this?

Well you are going to have to make some sort of L bracket then to mount it. How good are your fab skills? I ask because this is for the winch and when under load those brackets you make better be spot on.

If it were me I would weld some nuts to the front of the factory openings on the frame rail and then find a good way to run the bracket down the side of the frame rail as well. Then make the brackets so you can bolt them to the welded nuts and then also to the bumper. Try to make them slots so there is some adjust ability when you are mounting it. It will not be that easy but it could turn out nice. That is where I would start.

Just take your factory crush cans and the arb to a fab shop. They should be able to mock up what you need and buz it all together.

You know, that ARB bumper looks sweet, but I am shocked how thin that metal plate looks, I was expecting 3/16" - 1/4". That being said, your truck will look wicked once its on.

After staring at the front end all day I think that I am going to try and find some rectangular tube steel that slides over the frame and connect that to the bumper. It is around 14" long so I think that 3/16" or 1/4" should work. Let me know if you think it will work.

Spike, the guy was asking 500 but I talked him down to 400. It has some surface rust but overall it is great shape. Once I get it mounted I will re-paint it black and it will look close to new.

Fireman, I not sure how thick the plate is but it definately is not a light bumper. After reading all the bad things people have said about them I was shocked at how well it is built. It probably weighs about 100 pounds and seems like it will take some abuse. Once I get it mounted I will put it to the test and see what happens. I figured for the price it was worth it.
