Default Factory Hella Fogs / Switch Issue

I have exhausted all my wiring knowledge along with every thread I could find on several LR forums, all with no luck. Here's the issue....
Factory installed Hella fogs inop. Relay seems good, 15a fuse behind underhood fuse box is good. I have the dash switch with the 2 on it. I pulled it and found the constant is good and ground is good. The wire that should go hot with high beams does not, and the led on the switch does not glow....ever. If I connect hot/ground directly to the fogs, they work.

Suggestions???

If it’s using the OEM momentary switch & Aux relay mounted directly behind the fuse block under the hood I’m going to say your OEM relay is dead. The Aux #2 Light Switch should still illuminate with the dash lights are on though, just not the on/off LED.

Will a bad relay cause the wire from the brights not to get hot when brights are on?

Dumb question, but your main headlights (or at least parking lights) are on when you try, yes? And on low beam? The (I think) BCU controls this if they are wired factory. However, you may need to clarify, are these the OEM fog lights, or aux lights? You mentioned at “2” on the switch, which says it should be to aux lights. Either way, if they are OEM wired, then the above I think should still apply. The difference being the “2” switch is a rocker switch like the cruise control, and the OEM fog light switch is a toggle switch that activates differently.

I've tried with only parking lights, low beam, and high beam; all with no difference. The lights in question are aux lights, my front and rear fogs work correctly.

Pretty sure the Aux wiring harness doesn't tie into the BCU. It's got it's own wiring harness/relay. The 12v from the high beam = the 12v to trigger the relay.

If you've got that setup you can modify it to work with a standard relay. You'd just have to swap out the switch for a locking switch like a C/C switch, swap the front plates, and wire in the C/C pigtail into the aux harness (or change the pins around). Then wire it as you would a normal aux relay with or without the High Beam trigger.

This may be a dumb question, but I don't want to tear anything up in my ignorance.

Do I need a relay to run the lights, or can I wire directly to a toggle?

Any idea what would prevent the brights from sending voltage to dash button?
