Spike, I'm going to take your advice and get the clutch and fan. If it appears to be too long then I'll use my existing fan on the chevy clutch. Just have to make sure it's not gonna rub up against the radiator or fan shroud.

If the DII fan is the same as the D1 then all you need is the clutch
Severe duty: Imperial 215158
Standard Duty: Imperial 215157

Yep...this is the one that I used...like I said, it's just a little longer than the original. Works great.

I am using the one Summit is selling. It fits perfect and you don't need to drill larger bolt holes in your fan. It was tight at first but after 4K miles it loosened up a bit.

The only thing you need to be concerned about is that the shaft on the heavy duty fan clutch is roughly 1/2" longer than the LR fan clutch, so you might have to tweak the positioning of you fan shroud to give it a little more space. Otherwise it works great.
Didn't have to tweak the fan shroud, it fits great!

That's the one I got. I checked Advance Auto's website and put in that number. It came up as being for a Chevy van. Think it was $58. All I had to do was drill out the existing holes on the fan clutch with a 3/4" drill bit so I could get the new bolts in. I got bolts for it from Lowes. They are M10 - 1.50 20mm. Using a lock washer, they threaded in perfect. Put it on the water pump and there is a definite improvement in air flow.
Thank you all for the advice and especially for saving me about $200

My fan clutch on my 2003 D2 is permanently locked up, so I need to look at replacing it. The fan and clutch on the 2003/2004 cannot be separated, so I need to get a fan as well. Which actual fan did you get? I searched Advance online and came up short...
OK found cooling fan part # 620-602 for $56.99

Go to the DI tech section and look up the fan clutch thread.
Buy the Chevy fan clutch and the Chevy fan, $100 and you will be good to go.

Well my damn leak is back so I want to change out the water pump, thermostat and fan clutch. If I am understanding I can buy the chevy fan clutch from advance and it will fit perfectly on my 2000 disco. Is this correct?

Yes that is correct.
The DI 4.0 (3.9 uses a different pump) and DII 4.0 and 4.6 use the same water pump.
So it will bolt right up, do a test fit to ease your mind.
