Default Fan clutch removal - D2 - HELP!!

Has anyone actually removed the clutch from the actual fan? I am in the middle of trying to fix this and can't get the two seperated.
I have only Saturday to do this seeing I have to get on the road Sunday.

Thanks!!

just did my water pump but didnt have to remove clutch...you talking about those hex bolts that hold it on? I tried to remove one but they seemed REALLY tight..like they were welded in there! hit them with PB blaster about 4 times a day and see if that helps.

No - that is to a D1 - I have a D2 without the (4) bolts - would make my life SOOO much easier if I had the bolts....

So does mine. I have not seen the ones without the bolts in real life, not sure how they connect or come off.

sorry Eak, I kind of side tracked your original question. Have you looked in the RAVE manual?

just looked in my RAVE manual, it doesn't say anything about separating the two..maybe they're one unit? If I were you and needed it done quick I'd get on craigslist or start calling junk yards and find a complete fan/clutch.

this brings me a question i was going to ask which is on topic here...after I replaced my water pump I drove my rover a few miles without the fan..anybody know how far you can drive with just the aux electric fan? I know this will depend on outside air temp and driving conditions.
