I have tried all of that for the last week (I live in Chicago and you know its bad when you can't find a damn fan in the J/Y's or on C/L)... so that is why I have posted what I have posted. Last ditch effort without going thru Ebay or trying to 'trust' someone shipping it to me.

I am 2 1/2 hours south of my house and really, really need to get the Rover home without it overheating all over the place.

I could do it it segments - but it gets a little dicey coming into the SW side of Chicago...

whats the outside temp there? mine did fine with just the aux fan but it was only a short trip and it was in the mid 70s. I say drive like 60mph to keep a good air flow...turn heat and fan on high..roll down windows and try to get it home...oh yeah..keep an eye on temp gauge..one tick past middle and pull over.

I won't make the 2 1/2 hour trip (150 miles) home doing it that way. I played around with it a little more and decided that I will just replace the damn fan and be done with it.
I am also going to blow high pressured water through the radiator and such to clean out the vents.
So the car sits for a 5th week and I only have less than 20 miles on it since I bought it....
Not good.

Yes you can drive without the clutch fan, as long as you are moving you will be fine,m the clutch fan only moves air when sitting still.
So if you stop at a stop light keep a eye on the temp gauge.

I ran my truck with a non working fan clutch for a year and had no cooling issues until I was offroading in deep sand with the a/c on in August.
