Fault Lights
Hey: New Land Rover owner, finally broke down and bought a 2002 Discovery SE, on Monday and took it on a trip that night. I had my mech check it out before I left and he said it was in great shape. When I had traveled about 200M I stoped at a light and when I took off again the Traction Control, Hill Descent, and ABS lights came on "amber". I was only a few miles from my dest so I finished the trip and parked it for the night. The next day I started it up and the lights went off and stayed off for two days untill I was making the return trip and at about the same miles they came on again, same thing happened again they did not come back on after parking it over-night. One thing I did notice when I parked the second time I smelled what I thought was burning rubber, but the engine was not over heating.

Do a search for "the three amigos".
It is a very common problem, could be thin brake pads, a bad ABS sensor or excessive brake dust on the ABS sensors.
No worries, just have it looked at as soon as you can so the dealer can pay for the repair.
By law, even without a warrenty, you have 7 days to return a used car or give them the option to fix it.
