My fav addition is my Nairobi Java House spare tire cover...I hauled that thing halfway around the world to put it on this crazy truck...

I'd like to see a picture of the tire cover that made it around the world before finally on to your truck.

I love my auxillary lights, they have come in handy more than once already! And not to mention, they look awesome. I always bring a camera along (video camera too!) when I know there is a chance of an adventure. And like spike, I keep a nice pair of B-knocks in there too.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to install a roof rack, especially if it is just for lights. A rack will cost you an easy 1.5 MPG loss.
Make a point of getting many weekends off the road, with other Discos, see how they go compared to your truck and start from there.
First combination of things you need to do would be a lift and the appropriate size tires, then sliders and diff. guards, no skid plates, they are a waist of money, a bumper/winch combination and then your diffs. Lockers along with 4:11's and HD axles will be the last and by far the most expensive modification at around $4000.
JUST TAKE YOUR TIME.

This is my awesome spare tire cover. Got it a couple years ago...carried it through who knows what, on my back, in a truck, in an airplane leaking hydraulic fluid all over, then a C130 and finally a C17 home...I am a bit attached to it after all of that

Hey Mike. You are absolutely right about taking time to do the build. I'm curious about the HD axles you mentioned. What sets them apart from the standard axles? I was thinking a get front and rear third members as I find them inexpensive on ebay or where ever and have them rebuilt with the air lockers and 4.11 gears installed. Any problems you see with doing that? I figure I coul have them waiting to swap in when I put on the lift and tires.

And Cptshanman - I love the tire cover. It's unique which is awesome and the story with it is priceless.

So you actaully got it in Kenya where that coffee house is??
Anything that has a story to it is cooler than something that cost a bunch of money to me.
I like it!
