A few questions about some fixes
I am tightening up my newly acquired D2 and after sorting through the truck I have a few questions about the last few items that I need to fix:
1. My driver side door has a nasty knock that is caused by the internal hinge coming loose . The bead weld separated from the hinge so now every time you open or close the door it is essentially bouncing around in there. What is the best way to fix this?
2. I need to replace the center dash cup holder but I see no way to remove this, how do i remove it?
3. I need to find a replacement material for the clear door seal stuff that came from the factory. Recommendations?
4. The fitment of the hood to me seems a bit off. The gap on the passenger side is much greater than the drivers side. How can I adjust this?

#1 = need picture
#2 = dunno
#3 = Didn't know there was clear door seal stuff (live-n-learn)
#4 = You can adjust the hood if you loosen the hood hinge bolts as the holes are oval, not round. Much easier with 2 people!
1 outta 4...pathetic!

Pull the ash tray and coin tray there are screws behind them. I took mine out and removed the damaged spring system.

If the gap along one side and the cowl is even move the Hood laterally to even the gap between the fenders or the adjustment would have to be made with the fender or possibly the front clip is out of square

#1, I have this issue, and had a welding shop try to tack around the outer edge where the hinge goes into the body, but it did not last long. I believe there is a flange left and right on the end of the hinge welded from the inside that holds the hinge in place from the factory that has come loose. Besides being noisy, it also lets the door fall back on your leg when sideways off the trail to the right, and you trying to climb out. I have been living with mine for now.

Thanks man. I think I am going to have to fashion a brace/bracket to bind to the hinge plate. Have you thought about a professional grade two part epoxy used by manufacturers and body shops to bond metal? I think that combined with a few spot welds might do the trick.
A few more,
5. what do you use to freshen up the black trim, I am thinking about a durable black satin paint?
6. The wind noise coming from the doors and windows is insane, how do I cut back on this?
