And this is why we keep this little secret to ourselves...lol.

But, back on topic.

Welcome to the rover world, redleg13fa! You will either be here a short amount of time...or close to what seems like...forever. But, seriously...once you get the disco-issues straighten around...they can be a fun little vehicle. Good luck, with your new rig.

Brian.

[QUOTE=zuke;622351]Step 1: Park it and sacrifice a live chicken to the Rover God.

I don't know how everybody else performs this ritual but here is how I do it.

Stand in front of the hood and bite the head off the chicken like Ozzy Osbourne.
Hold the bleeding chicken over your head by the left foot
Firmly grasp your ***** with one hand and do a war dance around your rover 3 times. ( make sure you go 3 times as this wards off the 3 amigos)
Slap your wife on the *** and yell "god save the queen"

That is what the RAVE manual says

One more thing. Get a set of metric and sae tools. Most metric wrench sets don't have an 18 mm. You are gonna need one of those.

So I did purchase the 2004 disco hse7 yesterday. So far I'm on love with it. I'm already looking fowatd to do some maintenance on her. Man does it look like a pain in the rear to change plugs and wires. Should I change out the MAF sensor? What's the best synthetic oil to use on these engines? I'e seen some member say totall t6, some say mobile 1 high mileage hmm which one? Me I'm personally a valvoline guy. I'll post pics when I figure it out on my phone.

Plugs are easy enough, but getting to the coils to change the wires is a PITA. Some can swap them without disassembly but I prefer to remove the upper intake manifold.

Very nice. I got one too. I like the way they added all accessories in the HSE7. I relocated my coil packs for easy maintenance and trouble shooting. Cheers!
