Don't feel dumb. I think there are support groups out there. I had my Disco for almost 2 years before getting my Jaguar. My girlfriend almost slapped me when she found out Jag and LR were pretty close relatives. No problems yet, though. I do have a nice piece of laquered oak near my garage door to knock on 2 times a day.....

I thought that's what this forum is.

I have a serious sickness about vehicles. I'm like Christian Hazel of JP magazine except my weakness goes far beyond Jeeps.

I did have to talk myself out of knocking on the door of a house near mine with a 60's era J-200 rotting nearby earlier this year.

I'm really wanting to be debt free other than my house in 2 years and this sickness really doesn't help.

Oh and speaking of Jags there's a series III XJ-6 that's been sitting in a carport nearby without moving for at least a year. Again, I grit my teeth to keep from inquiring.

I have a D1 and I am 6'5". I can't see traffic lights if I pull all the way up. On the other hand, I can see everything in front of me. I like sitting that high, just wish I had sunroofs to see the stop lights...
Ditto. Can't see for $#i! but enjoy sitting on the throne.

I've been in a lot of newer vehicles and all the seats feel like they're trying to make a drivable easy chair, where the D2 is made to be functional. I've got an '03 and the seat has a lot of spring left to it. It feel like it will take a lot to "wear out." And at 5'8" I sometime have trouble seeing the lights! Atleast that's what I tell my fiance when I run it, stop signs too.

I have a 97 with cloth. I had to replace the webbing under the seats, but once done, it feels great. Not too firm, not too soft. Made the drive staight from Tulsa to Chicago 6 times now. Buttocks are still there.

Not being able to see stop lights was something the Disco II
was to have fixed" the 100 plus changes"when they changed from the Disco I.
It did not go far enough it appears.

I'm 5'9" and love the view also. I too have trouble with the lights sometimes, but it's a small price to pay for such an amazing vehicle.

Hey bigugly, I too have a Mini Cooper S as my daily commuter! it's wild going from one extreme to the other, but help keeps mundane street driving interesting.

I am the same height as you Scott and I can't see the lights, but I don't feel like the wheel sits in my lap. This is the first SUV I've owned, everything else before was a stealth, firebird, camaro, and such. I personally like the wheel low, but that's just me. Takes some getting used to, but I think well worth it.
