Default Finally got the heads off.

I called a machine shop close to Charlotte this morning and asked about a turn-around time for resurfacing my heads. The owner said he could get them done today. The place was about 30 mins from my house, so when I got there the guy said to go grab something to eat and they will be ready in about an hour or so.

So $100 and an hour or so later, I got the heads resurfaced, cleaned AND he fixed some mangled spark plug threads.

I slipped him an extra $20 and said beer was on me tonight!

why did you machine the heads. were they warped or you didnt feel like cleaning them. Unless the vehicle has a severe problem with overheating and its blowing out the back then we have them surfaced. The smart thing isnt getting it machined but get the valves cleaned and new valve seats installed. That will guarantee no problems with misfire.
