Default Finally got my nut off!, felt really good!!!

99D2 fan removal, tried several of the methods posted on the various boards and nothing worked... found this solution on Discoweb, but for the life of me I cannot find the post again and I don't want to take credit for someone elses solution. Anyhow, use a small or medium pipe wrench turned 90 to the pully with one jaw inside the hub and the other outside (use a rag to protect the od). Start turning the 36mm nut (ccw facing the front of the Disco) and the pipe wrench will lock the pulley and presto you will get your nut off!
Slick as snot on a brass door ****.

Stopped by AutoZone for a new serp belt ... and they had Shell Rotella T 15/40 on sale at $9.99/gal. Bought a big load. Thats a great price for all you leakers out there. Per the zillion posts "oil" Rotella type formulated oils in flat tappet engines (ie read 1960's Buick) is the hot set up to save your cam & lifters. I passed on the synthetic after reading about springing lots o leaks with synth.

Lots of inquiries on this subject ... maybe moderator should edit & post sticky.

Great idea.

FYI You can get Rotella 15W-40 Dino for $27 for the 3 gallon jug (? i think it's 3 gallons, its huge) at Walmart all the time. It is a great oil for our engines as is the Rotella 5W-40 synthetic.
