What if someone wanted to clear adaptions without clearing DTC/freeze frame info, enter the button. At the very least.

Removing the battery cable only clears the adaptions and pending codes. It wont clear current/permanent

Have you made any headway? or found any clues that push you in one direction or another?

No progress, no clues as to why this is happening. I spoke to a guy near me who is a Rover only mechanic and I am probably going to take it up to him this week. It makes absolutely no sense from the standpoint that I touched nothing in terms of wiring on the passenger side yet the code is there P0154 {O2 sensor circuit no activity detected (bank 2,sensor 1) Front sensor RH bank open circuit}.

You said you checked continuity, was that on the passenger side as well? I know you said you were careful but if you probed the female connector you could have widened the connector enough like mine are. Maybe reseat the connectors to see if anything changes?

but what about a beaver chewing your wiring off? or a sneaky bastard unplugging your wiring at night?

I checked voltage and continuity on both side Sandman. I have reseated the connectors several times as I know that can be an issue. As for the angry Beaver or uninvited guest dicking with my wiring,,,,,,, I have this buddy named Remington who specializes in pest removal.

Watching to see how this pans out, my Y2KD2 keeps tossing those codes too. I'm not running open loop tho.

Cut the plugs off and crimp the new o2s right to the harness. Those plugs are the culprit a lot of times. You cant solder the bosch o2s they have some weird wire coated in something. But you can use the pink heat shrink crimp connectors.

Reasonable and true about some wire, I'm sure there's a way to remove the coating but Idk what it is, but you could always put on much better connectors. That way you don't have to keep loosing wire with how frequently it seems O2 sensors are blamed and changed on many vehicles.

But then there's the argument that changing the length or adding a crimp connection will change the resistance and therefore the O2 reading to the computer.
